Background Diabetes is a prevalent condition and getting commoner. With the current practice young adults living with diabetes have high Did Not Attend (DNA) rate and poor health outcomes. Action research is a promising style of research to address the complexity of diabetes care among young adults by minimising the gap between theory and practice. The aim of this paper is to discuss doing action research with young adults having diabetes, supported by illustration of methodology and findings from a primary study conducted in Tower Hamlet and Newham Boroughs in East London.\nStudy design this study is informed by action research style and theorised using diffusion of innovation model. Data sources include ethnographic field-notes from two story sharing peer-support groups for patients aged 16-25, one workshop for stakeholders, 6 in-depth interviews with healthcare professionals and researchers, 3 naturalistic interviews with patients, document analysis of 4 research advertising fliers and 3 reports. \nFindings Doing action research with young adults was found to be challenging mainly due to the characteristics of target population such as psychological factors and motivation, and practical issues such as recruitment and communication. Response by patients was affected by multiple factors including young age, identity, gender, and type of diabetes. Different patients valued different things and had different needs.\nConclusion This study has illustrated the steps taken to do action research with young adults having diabetes and the multiple, interacting factors that influence the success of doing such research. Despite adopting an “evidence based” intervention research is fraught with challenges related to the complexity of this age group and practical issues.

Abstract\nBackground: To become an elite athlete needs a good preparation from a young age. To identify physical ability for a specific event as 100m hurdles needs a number of regular testing. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify tests with the best prediction validity for woman 100m hurdles. Methods: 29 woman, 100m hurdles runners, age 18 – 26. All participants are involved in hurdles training for minimum 5years. For stability review of battery test 13 participants repeated test with one year period. All participants absolved 7th motoric tests at the end of 1st preparation period. Results and conclusion: In our study we have used multi-regression analyzes to show a minimum of distortion of the predicted results of sport performance in comparison with the whole test battery. According to our findings there is a possibility to reduce 6 individual tests in a battery to two key tests. These tests are 120m run and standing long jump.

In clinical states associated with systemic oxidative stress (OS) and inflammation such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), oxidative modifications of serum albumin impair its quantification, resulting in apparent hypoalbuminemia. As the maintenance of oncotic pressure/colloid osmotic pressure (COP) is a major function of albumin, this study examined the impact of albumin oxidation on COP, both in-vivo and in-vitro. Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and patients on chronic hemodialysis (HD) with systemic inflammation and OS were enrolled. Blood samples were collected from 134 subjects: 32 healthy controls (HC), CKD patients with high (n=17) and low (n=31) systemic inflammation and from 54 patients on chronic hemodialysis (HD) with the highest levels of OS and inflammation. \nResults: In-vitro oxidized albumin showed significantly higher COP values than non-oxidized albumin at identical albumin levels. In vivo, in hypoalbuminemic HD patients with the highest OS and inflammation, COP values were also higher than expected for the low albumin levels. The contribution to COP by other prevalent plasma proteins, such as fibrinogen and immunoglobulins was negligible.\nWe imply that the calculation of COP based on albumin levels should be revisited in face of OS and inflammation. Hence, in hypoalbuminemic CKD patients with systemic OS and inflammation the assumption of low COP should be verified by its measurements.

Catch Per Unit Effort (CPUE) data and survey biomass indices of Arnarfjordur shrimp stock (Pandalus borealis) were used as tuning series for a surplus production model fitted using three different types of software. The three software namely MS Excel, ASPIC and R all fitted the data in a similar way and gave roughly the same parameter estimates. The intrinsic growth rate, r was estimated in the range of 0.91744 to 1.11, the catchability coefficient, q ranged from 0.000088 to 0.000128 and the carrying capacity, K ranged from 3162 t to 5790 t for the CPUE tuning series. For the survey tuning series, r was 0.408 to 0.629, q was 0.95 to 1.47 and K was 5512 t to 6350 t. It is observed that many of the model assumptions in the SPM are violated in this analysis. Apart from various limitations and violation of assumptions, the most important violation are the assumption that there are no species interactions that affect the abundance and productivity of the shrimp stock and the assumption of constant catchability. Though model assumptions are not met with the Arnarfjordur shrimp fishery, survey tuning series is less violated the model assumptions and fairly reasonable estimated the stock compared to that of the CPUE. It was found that the average estimation of MSY, BMSY and FMSY were 776 t, 2977 t and 0.18 respectively for survey tuning series, and 1109 t, 2195 t and 0.51 respectively for CPUE tuning series. Besides, relative fishing mortality and relative biomass were inversely related and the scenario was different between two data series. From management reference point of view, survey tuning series estimated more reasonable estimation for all three software platforms than CPUE tuning series. The interaction of relative fishing mortality over relative biomass for survey tuning series is relatively more realistic based on empirical observation where fishing intensity, predation by cod and effect of physical parameters on the shrimp stock were revealed by many researchers.

Under the laboratory conditions, toxicological evaluation of two compounds Azadirachtin and Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis ( B.t.i ) against eggs of mosquito Cx. pipiens and biological effect of these compounds on larvae, pupae and adult emergence, as well as the ovicidal activity were determined after 24 h of exposure to varying concentrations of Azadirachtin and B.t.i. The data indicated high reduction in the percentage of egg hatch resulted from eggs treated with azadirachtin, the values were 31.41% at 1mg /L and 91.51% at 0.125 mg /L. Additionally, A high mortality with the increase in the concentration, and prolongation in larval and pupal developments resulted from eggs treated with azadirachtin; 4.55 days at 0.125mg/L and 7.66 days at 1 mg/L in first instar. Moreover, larval and pupal duration increased with increase in the concentration of azadirachtin. The results indicated also high augmentation in the percentages of the malformations with decrease in the concentration of azadirachtin. In adult stage, the results indicated high reduction in total eggs laid, percentage of hatchability and longevity. No effect was observed after eggs treated with B.t.i. Conclusively, the Azadirachtin are excellent potential agent for controlling the mosquito Culex pipiens.

The article works out the thesis that to the excessive desire of the powerful for the absolute appropriation/domination it is opposed a not less excessive and absolute desire from the people in order not to be appropriated/dominated: two desires of a distinct nature which are neither the desire for the same things nor the desire for different things, but desires in which the act of desiring is different. Taking into account that each desire aims at its absolute effectivity, each one of them tries to impose itself universaly becoming twicely absolute: for the one side it is inclined to the absolute domination (the powerful) or to the plain liberty (the people); for the other side, it tries to impose itself to the whole of the political body. Each desire is only sustained by its heterogeneous desire and pursues its own ends the realization of which will be the collapse of all collective life. Good institutions and good laws ensure liberty as long as they are capable to prevent that the powerful or the people consummate its desire or abandon its own desire to assume the other\'s. Nonetheless, in spite of having inscribed the order of law in the disorder of dissent, Machiavelli discarded the idea of an institutional order as a definitive solution to the disorder of dissent. Consequently no law or institution is able to definitively resist the risk of corruption. So the obligation of a periodical return to the origins: the experience of the constitutive moment of the original violence which, exposing men to risks, restores the initial reputation and strenght of States and institutions.
