Ge Cui

The Fulbright Program is the largest and most acclaimed international exchange program in the world. The China-U.S. Fulbright Program, revived in 1980, aims to provide opportunities for cooperation and exchange in educational fields based on equality, reciprocity, and mutual benefit. This article begins with an analysis of the program's background and Senator Fulbright's contribution to the normalization of U.S.-China relations. It then examines the program's promotion and the increase in research scholars, students, and resident scholars over the past 40 years. The third section evaluates the program's impact on enhancing mutual understanding through exchange. Finally, a case study of two Chinese Fulbright research scholars explores the program's positive role in deepening understanding and facilitating cooperation between the two countries.
