This study presents a clinical case involving an eight-year-old patient diagnosed with cortical dysplasia and gliosis in the left temporal lobe, which manifested as focal epileptic seizures with secondary generalization. The patient also exhibited symptoms of dementia and various somatic complications, including diabetes. A complex therapeutic regimen was administered, comprising anticonvulsant medications, immunovenin, plasmapheresis, and anti-diabetic drugs, which yielded partial efficacy. This report underscores the challenges of managing epilepsy in the context of complex neurological and systemic conditions and highlights the need for tailored therapeutic approaches.
