Epigenetic alterations play a fundamental role in cancer initiation, progression, and metastatic spread. This research investigates global DNA methylation patterns and histone modifications in primary tumors and matched metastatic lesions across multiple cancer types. We identify epigenetic signatures associated with metastatic potential and poor patient prognosis. Our findings reveal that specific combinations of histone marks correlate with epithelial-mesenchymal transition and invasive behavior, suggesting potential therapeutic targets for preventing metastasis.
