This study evaluates the availability and adequacy of basic laboratory equipment necessary for teaching biology in selected government secondary schools in North Nazimabad Town, Karachi. The research focused on four key dimensions of laboratory equipment: microscopes; slides, test tubes, and petri dishes; forceps, probes, and scalpels; and beakers, flasks, and Bunsen burners. A sample of eight secondary schools and fifty biology teachers were selected for data collection using a structured questionnaire. The findings indicated that while five schools possessed the essential laboratory equipment, three schools were found lacking. The study employed simple percentage statistics for data analysis, revealing significant disparities in equipment availability. The results underscore the need for improved resource allocation and recommendations are provided to enhance the educational infrastructure for biology teaching in the region.
