This study provides an ecological description of necrobionts and necrophilous beetles found in southern Russia. We detail the specific composition of these groups and the ecological processes underlying their formation. Over a period of 21 years, we have examined the fauna and ecological characteristics of necrobiont Coleoptera in the mountain landscapes of the North Caucasus and adjacent areas. Our findings reveal the relationship between landscape types and the taxonomic makeup of these beetle communities. This research holds both scientific significance and practical implications for understanding regional biodiversity and ecosystem dynamics.
