This study introduces a novel Q-slot antenna design that utilizes a step impedance microstrip line with an open-ended mouth to achieve multi-band capabilities tailored for WiMAX communications. The antenna is engineered to operate across four bandwidth frequency groups that align with the standards of DO, 1xRTT-3G, WiMAX-IEEE802.11e, and WiMAX-IEEE802.16m. Detailed analysis of surface current distribution at resonant frequencies has been conducted, highlighting the impact of parameter dimension variations on performance enhancement. Additionally, the radiation patterns in the E-plane and H-plane are examined and benchmarked against theoretical slot antenna equations, providing insights into the antenna's efficiency and applicability in modern communication systems.
