Stem cell therapy represents a promising approach for treating cardiovascular diseases, particularly myocardial infarction and heart failure. This review summarizes recent clinical trials utilizing various stem cell types including mesenchymal stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells, and cardiac progenitor cells. We analyze the efficacy and safety profiles of different delivery methods and discuss the mechanisms by which transplanted cells promote cardiac regeneration. Additionally, we examine challenges in cell survival and engraftment that must be addressed to improve therapeutic outcomes.
