Recently, there is a plethora of information available in various forms, playing an imperative role in enhancing our knowledge base and social life. The presentation of information is as crucial as the information itself, as effective communication and interaction can significantly aid interpretation. This study investigates the legend navigation interactive technique for the comparative exploration of descriptive data mining results, aiming to communicate insights quickly and comprehensibly. The technique was applied to two visualization methods, column and bar charts, by performing descriptive data mining tasks on a published Amazon dataset. The study involved 41 volunteers selected through simple random sampling. The interactive technique was thoroughly analyzed in both visualization methods, considering visualization features. Results were compared with the drill-down interactive mechanism, discussing the utility based on visualization features. The legend navigation approach and drill-down mechanism showed superior performance in column charts.
