This comparative study examines the MPhil and PhD programmes offered by public and private universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The research encompassed all recognized universities in the region, with data collected from the heads of education departments at six sampled universities. Through interviews, the study assessed facilities, faculty, and student-centered approaches. Public universities were found to excel in facilities and faculty provision, while private universities were more student-centered and research-oriented. Recommendations include fostering public-private partnerships to enhance education quality and adopting modern teaching practices and technologies.
