This study explores the challenges faced by unemployed workers in the Manaus Industrial Pole, focusing on the increasing demands for knowledge and qualifications even for positions involving routine tasks with low pay. It relies on research conducted during a Master's program at the Federal University of Amazonas. The research involved interviewing laid-off workers from the Electrical and Electronic Sector to understand how they strive to regain employment. The paper delves into the educational investments these workers make to meet the knowledge requirements of their previous roles, thus offering insights into the intersection of unemployment, qualification, and the relentless pursuit of re-employment in a competitive industrial environment.
