The present research study explores the media literacy processes among Spanish families, focusing on enhancing their critical thinking abilities, effective use of technical language, and responsible media consumption. It assesses how families evaluate media information and their participation as informed consumers. The study identifies common concerns about frequently used media types. Utilizing a qualitative methodology, the findings reveal that families possess significant media knowledge but express apprehensions about social networks and emphasize the need for greater participation. Consequently, a targeted media training plan for families has been designed to address these issues.
