Impact of Picoxystrobin 25% SC on Nitrogen Transformation in Loamy Sand Soil

Nageswara Rao Tentu, A. Muralidhar Reddy, SNVS Murthy

This study evaluates the influence of Picoxystrobin 25% SC on nitrogen transformation processes in loamy sand soil. The experiment involved incubating the fungicide at two concentrations, 1-fold (0.340 mg/kg) and 5-fold (1.700 mg/kg), over 28 days to assess the impact on nitrogen turnover. Control samples were treated with distilled water. Results indicated that nitrogen transformation deviated by less than 25% from the control at both treatment levels by the 28th day. The concentrations of Picoxystrobin were determined using a validated HPLC method, ensuring precise dose verification. The findings suggest that Picoxystrobin 25% SC has minimal impact on nitrogen transformation in loamy sand soils, which is crucial for understanding its environmental implications.
